I had a powerful experience working with Christian hypnosis sessions with Charles. What stood out most was how he kept Jesus at the centre of everything. It never felt like just a technique — it felt spiritually grounded and aligned with my faith.
The sessions helped me begin releasing trauma in a way that felt safe, guided, and meaningful. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I felt supported both emotionally and spiritually. There was a strong sense of peace throughout the process, and I appreciated how Scripture and faith were naturally integrated.
If you're looking for something that combines healing with a Christ-centered approach, I would definitely recommend working with Charles.

The quiet part of your mind that you feel during prayer — that's the part hypnotherapy works in.
Welcome. If you're reading this, you've probably been wanting something for a while. I'm Charles Lobo — a Christian, and a clinical hypnotherapist — and I can help. In my practice, sessions begin with a deep conversation: what's happening for you, what might be underneath it, what God wants for you right now.
The hypnotherapy comes next — clinical work that reaches the part of your mind that runs your habits and reactions. All suggestions, words and images, are drawn from Scripture and shaped by what you want to achieve.
Wherever you are in the world — Australia, the US, the UK, or anywhere else — we can work together.
Areas where my work has helped clients move forward:
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Addictions — smoking, vaping, alcohol, pornography, and more
- Weight management
- Chronic pain
- Relationships, anger, and personal development
- Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
- Sleep issues, stress, and insomnia

What Clients Say
I sought help because I was struggling with severe anxiety, and I found it to be very healing. As a believer, combining the word of God with hypnotherapy was very helpful for me. Very soothing and very relaxing.
I've been trying to cut down on drinking for years only to end up increasing this destructive habit each time I tried. Under Charles's gentle therapy I felt safe and completely under God's protection. The result has been astonishing — no desire for a drink, no yearnings, no cravings, nothing.
I decided to work with Charles after many years of struggles, and as a Christian not believing in hypnosis. But what Charles does is not like magic or evil — it is simply resetting your brain to its original functions. I have overcome life's biggest battles with his help. I am 65 and struggled for years. Now I am happy and dealing with life in the Christian manner.
Charles did fantastic work with me on my anxiety issues that were stemming from work. He really knows this healing modality very well. Hypnosis works. Hypnosis works when Charles does it!
During my second pregnancy I had an issue with my jaw. I was in a lot of pain. I could hardly open my mouth and eating was painful. I had a session with Charles. As soon as the session ended the pain was less. The pain went away soon after and has never come back.
I love Charles's influence and coaching for my teen son. He is a great mentor. My son is calmer. He seems more mature. What drew me was that he was a Christian and his coaching would reflect this. This was a huge factor for working with Charles.
Is hypnotherapy a sin for a Christian?
It's the question most Christians who consider hypnotherapy end up asking — and many ask it more than once. You read what one side says. Then the other. Maybe you pray about it. Maybe you ask someone you trust.
And here you are.
One side told you it's not Christian — that you'd be surrendering control of your mind, opening a door that shouldn't be opened, dabbling in something mysterious. The other side told you it was fine — that the American Medical Association and the Catholic Church both approved it for medical use in the 1950s, that Focus on the Family endorses it under Christian supervision, that nothing in the Bible actually forbids it.
Hypnotism is neither magical nor mysterious. It is a standard, practical state of the mind where you are quiet, focused, and resourceful. In this state you allow the therapist to provide you with suggestions for changing entrenched habits, patterns, and behaviours.
Step back from both sides for a moment. The deeper question isn't whether hypnotherapy is safe. It's who you'd want guiding you — and where their words and suggestions come from. What I offer is a trusted voice and a great deal of experience in giving you the best possible suggestions based on what God wants for your life.
In our sessions we first discuss in detail what God wants for you in this season of your life. That is our lodestone. By the time we move into the hypnotherapy work itself, the words and images that I use aren't generic — they're drawn from Scripture and from what we just talked through.
The faith I bring into the work is examined, biblical, and present from the first sentence. Not added on at the end. Not a Christian sticker on a secular practice.
You may have tried Christian counseling, or talk therapy. They help you understand what's wrong. But understanding doesn't always shift what's actually happening — the anxiety, the addiction, the weight, the trauma, the fear of the thoughts, the habit you cannot pray your way out of. That part lives one layer below the part of you that already knows what it should do.
That lower layer is where hypnotherapy works. And it's more comfortable and familiar to you than you might think — more on that just below.
How hypnotherapy works
and your faith already know.
Hypnotherapy is one of the simpler things in the world. It is a structured way of doing something your brain already does on its own — slipping into a focused, relaxed state where it becomes more resourceful and open to new ideas. You enter that state every time a good book absorbs you for an hour. Every time a film pulls you in and the room around you quiets down. Every time deep prayer or Christian meditation calms your mind to where the noise of the day fades into the background.
Your brain calls this the alpha-theta range. Scripture calls it being still.
In a session, I guide you into that state, and then we get to work — gently introducing the suggestions and ideas you actually want to live by, in language and imagery that fits who you are. You stay fully aware the whole time. You can hear me. You can reject anything I say that doesn't sit right with you.
And you change — becoming the person you want to be.
The suggestions I offer come from Scripture. After years of doing this work, I can tell you honestly: they land in a way generic affirmations don't. The imagery is shaped by the faith we share — drawn from passages you already know.
Most clients notice a meaningful change after the first session. The total number depends on what you're working through — anxiety often resolves in three; deeper work like trauma or addiction usually takes more. We figure that out together on the discovery call.

My Approach
Romans 12:2 calls it the renewing of the mind. The work of replacing patterns that don't serve you with the ones God intends for your life.
I believe everyone, as a creation of God, has the capacity to flourish. Sometimes that capacity is buried under habits, fears, or wounds that no amount of trying can shift. The work we do together is finding what's underneath — and bringing God's light to it.
The conversations we have are about what's been hard, what you've tried, what God might be working in you right now. Then I guide you into a focused, restful state — most clients describe it as deeply relaxing and enjoyable — where we use imagery and suggestions drawn from Scripture, anchored in the passages that already shape your week. For some people the change is fast. For others it takes a few sessions. Most leave each session feeling lighter.
You came here carrying something. The next step is to let it go — and that's why you're here.
I look forward to meeting you.

Why hypnotherapy works where talking sometimes doesn't
Talk therapy reaches the part of you that already knows what you "should" do. Hypnotherapy works one layer deeper, with the part of you that runs your habits, reactions, and beliefs without asking permission. That's where lasting change is built.
